Welcome!!!

Hi everyone!

Welcome to EFC East Valley's HS blog. We are glad that you have found our site. We will try to update this as much as possible to update you on the happenings of our HS fellowship. Anyway, here is our mission statement for our group:

EV High School Fellowship exists to build a strong community of believers who are growing in their faith through the teaching of Scripture to equip and train them to reach out to their friends and community around them who do not yet have a relationship with Jesus and glorify God in all that they are.

Our key verse comes from Matthew 22:36-40: "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law? "Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hand on these two commandments."

We hope that you will continue to drop by our blog and come join us on Fridays and Sundays!

announcements 03.20-27

Hey guys, here's what's happening this week!

Question of the week:
1.  If you could have any special skill what would it be?  Why?
2.  What has God been doing in your life?

Recap on Sunday's message:

Mission and Joyful Suffering (Hebrews 13:12-14)
Mission Truths
One command: to make Christ-followers
Three steps: go to all nations, baptize, teach
My role: be a convincing witness who proves God's love
Why suffer for God's mission?
It shows God's worth
"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field.  When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field." (Matthew 13:44)
It is a sign of genuine faith
"Then He called the crowd to Him along with is disciples and said, 'If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.''" (Mark 8:34)
It displays where our hope truly is
"For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come." (Hebrews 13:14)
We lavish on the person we love
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
