Welcome!!!

Hi everyone!

Welcome to EFC East Valley's HS blog. We are glad that you have found our site. We will try to update this as much as possible to update you on the happenings of our HS fellowship. Anyway, here is our mission statement for our group:

EV High School Fellowship exists to build a strong community of believers who are growing in their faith through the teaching of Scripture to equip and train them to reach out to their friends and community around them who do not yet have a relationship with Jesus and glorify God in all that they are.

Our key verse comes from Matthew 22:36-40: "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law? "Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hand on these two commandments."

We hope that you will continue to drop by our blog and come join us on Fridays and Sundays!

announcements 03.06-13

Hey guys, here's what's coming up this week:

Question of the week:
1.  If you could change your name, what would you change it to?  Why?
2.  What has God been doing in your life?

Recap on Sunday's message:

God's Original Plan (Matthew 28:18-20)
The foundation of mission: Jesus' authority
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and earth has been given to Me." (Matthew 28:18)
Jesus' complete authority is the basis of our participation in mission
"Therefore..." (Matthew 28:19)
What is God's one mission (not many missions) for Christians?
Only one imperative: make Jesus followers of all people groups
Jesus describes a true disciple as one who continues in His workMission has always been God's original plan
God expects me to fulfill His mission in three ways:
1. I am to go to a different people group
"Therefore, go make disciples of all nations..." (Matthew 28:19)
2. I am to help people profess their faith and join the church
"...baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,..." (Matthew 28:19)
3. I am to help people learn and become more like Jesus
"...and teach them to observe everything I have commanded you..." (Matthew 28:20)
