Welcome!!!

Hi everyone!

Welcome to EFC East Valley's HS blog. We are glad that you have found our site. We will try to update this as much as possible to update you on the happenings of our HS fellowship. Anyway, here is our mission statement for our group:

EV High School Fellowship exists to build a strong community of believers who are growing in their faith through the teaching of Scripture to equip and train them to reach out to their friends and community around them who do not yet have a relationship with Jesus and glorify God in all that they are.

Our key verse comes from Matthew 22:36-40: "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law? "Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hand on these two commandments."

We hope that you will continue to drop by our blog and come join us on Fridays and Sundays!

faith in action

It's neat when things unexpectedly come together.

This past Sunday, Pastor Gabe preached about Abraham's faith in our Sunday service. In our High School CE class, we talked about Abraham's faith as mentioned in James 2. This was not planned out beforehand. Perhaps God is trying to say something? Maybe :)

Anyway, the lesson that we learned was that Abraham is someone who lived out His faith. He was willing to literally sacrifice all that was important to Him. This is evidence of his faith in God. The other encouragement for us is to note that Abraham wasn't perfect. There were many times in his life where his faith was weak and when he didn't fully trust God, yet, God still used him and kept His promise to him. Despite Abraham's faithlessness, God is always faithful.

Our challenge to you is for you to really live out your faith. Evaluate what are areas in your life that you are afraid of letting go and give those things up to God. Put yourself in situations where your faith needs to be stretched and remember that God desires to use you regardless of any past failures. Put your faith into action.
